First Annual Electronics Recycling a Success
We want to thank the community for making our first electronics recycling drive a success. As you all know, during the month of May, we ran a spring cleaning drive in coordination with Keep Alliance Beautiful. The goal was to help Alliance businesses and residents get rid of their old devices in an environmentally-friendly manner. At the same time, we offered free data destruction to keep the tossed hard drives secure through the recycling pipeline.
By the Numbers:
- 97 businesses and residents served
- 158 hard drives destroyed or returned to the owner
- Over 6,200 pounds of electronics kept out of the landfill
- $948 in donations collected for Keep Alliance Beautiful
- Over 88 labor hours donated by CreativeTek employees (unloading, handling, and destroying hard drives)
The success of this drive inspired us to do it again next year. So stay tuned during May 2019 for our second annual electronics recycling drive.
